Wet Dreams and Ghusl (FATWA)
The Question
What do the scholars of the religion and the jurists of the mighty sharī`ah say regarding the issue that, if:
someone has a wet dream without lust or ejaculation,
or due to an illness such as urinary inconsistency, etc. (as in this case as well it occurs without lust or ejaculation),
will ghusl be wājib upon the one who had a wet dream or not in both of these situations? Or does this have the same ruling as what comes out of someone due to ejaculation and lust?
The Answer
Wuḍū becomes necessary due to the semen which comes out without lust or ejaculation whilst awake; not ghusl. But regarding the wet dream, how does he know that it was without lust and ejaculation? Out of caution, he will perform ghusl.
